4U 1700-377 is a strongly variable high-mass X-ray binary source. The variability is periodic with a period of 3.4125 days.

Can you find evidence for this variability in the data? Indicate how the X-ray emission from this source compares to that from the Crab. (Hint: compare the count rates for the sources.)
